Service Description
Intro to the Lathe part 2 is, as it sounds, the second step in lathe classes. In the class we'll start to explore how to go about more complex lathe work. We'll be making a large bolt, and nut. Starting with the nut, we'll chuck the blank, face it off, centre drill, drill the tapping size and tap the internal thread. We'll then use the compound slide to cut a taper to knock the sharp corners off. Then we'll move on to the bolt. Again, we'll chuck the blank, but this time we'll need to learn how to support a long blank using the tail stock. Then we'll cut a leading taper and turn the blank down to size both for the shank of the bolt, and the thread size, then cut the thread. Finally, we'll turn it around to finish the head detail.

In such cases, The Dream Machine Workshop will accommodate rescheduling requests without any penalty. b) Rescheduling of Classes and "Build It" Workshops, and classes with Less Than 48 Hours Notice: Rescheduling of classes and "Build It" workshops with less than 48 hours notice before the scheduled start time will result in a charge equal to 15% of the total cost of the class or workshop. This fee is applicable to cover administrative and scheduling expenses incurred. CANCELLATION OF CLASSES AND BUILD-IT WORKSHOPS a) Cancellation with More Than 48 Hours Notice: Participants can cancel their registration for classes and workshops free of charge if the cancellation is made with more than 48 hours notice before the scheduled class or workshop start time. In such cases, The Dream Machine Workshop will provide a full refund of any payments made. b) Cancellation with Less Than 48 Hours Notice: If a cancellation is made with less than 48 hours notice before the scheduled class or workshop start time, a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of the class or workshop will be applied. This fee is to cover administrative and scheduling costs.
